Jerry Nathan Coster, 78, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 from COPD and congestive heart failure at a local hospital. No services are planned. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Jerry was born September 24, 1934 in Great Falls to Alfred and Marie (Dostal) Coster. He loved the outdoors, and as a leader of Boy Scout Troop he completed a 31 day hike from Lincoln to Augusta. He worked on the Prudhoe Bay pipeline in Alaska as a welder/inspector and served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Jerry was certified by the HAM Radio Club. He loved to read and have Tuesday coffee with classmates at the City Bar. He enjoyed camping and hiking, but did not like fishing! Jerry was an organ donor. Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Coster of Great Falls; sons Chris and Mark; daughters Mary and Cathy (James); brothers Rich, Tom, and Bill; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter. Memorials in Jerry’s name may be sent to the Great Falls Senior Citizen’s Center.
