John Leonard Einan Sr., 76, of Great Falls, a local construction worker passed away on Tuesday December 30th, 2014 at Benefis Peace Hospice House. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, January 3, 2014 at 10 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Committal will follow services. John was born July 18, 1938 in Whitefish, MT to Adolph and Mary Frances Einan. His parents travelled with construction until he was school age, and then settled in Great Falls. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1956. After graduation he served in the United States Navy for three years aboard the U.S.S. Samuel N. Moore. He then returned home and married JoMarie Kuglin in 1959. John worked as a carpenter foreman for Dick Anglin Construction for 13 years. He then was a superintendent for Palmer Duncan Construction for 15 years, and then as a Vice President and Estimator for All Steel Building Company until his retirement. John volunteered in several different areas throughout his life. He was a Boy Scout Master and team member with his wife in the Worldwide Marriage Encounters. His other volunteer activities included past president and board member for St. Luke’s Parish Council, Part Deputy Grand Knight for Knights of Columbus, Steven’s Ministry, and serving as the president for St. Vincent DePaul Society. John also volunteered to build several homes for Habitat for Humanity, and served on the maintenance board for the Ursuline Retreat Center. His hobbies included snow skiing, square and round dancing, wood-carving, and spending time with his family at the cabin in Neihart, MT. Survivors include (daughter) Joy and husband Jeff Lustgraaf of Helena, (sons) John and wife Cyndie Einan, Jerry and wife Sharon Einan of Great Falls, (grandsons) John III and (wife) Sandy Einan of Great Falls, David Einan of Eugene, Oregon, Christopher Lustgraaf of Bozeman, MT, (granddaughters) Angela and (husband) Josh Croscutt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Heather Lustgraaf of Missoula, MT, Alicia Lustgraaf of Bremerton, Washington, (sister) Mary Johnson of Great Falls, and a life partner, Barbara Kernaghan, who supported him in every situation. John was preceded in death by his wife JoMarie Einan in 2001. Memorials can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, or the Ursuline Retreat Center.
