John Mehl Goodmundson

John Mehl Goodmundson, 55, left our sides on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 due to complications from a stroke. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Dutton at 2 PM. This will be followed by burial at the Dutton cemetery and a celebration of life at the Dutton American Legion Hall. His greatest love was his children, Kayla and Keon, who acquired his talents, kindness, and intelligence. John also treasured his many friends with similar interests in farming, golf, cooking, darts and guns. His love of cooking and barbequing attracted many who savored his food.As an avid gun collector, John awed his family and friends with his sharp shooting and gunsmithing expertise. Throughout the community, John shared his knowledge, skills, and out-of-the-box thinking. He served on the Mountain View Co-op board for 3o years, where he met some of his closest friends. John was born to Darrell and Phyllis Goodmundson on October 2, 1961. He was raised and graduated from Dutton High School. In 1983, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy from MSU-Bozeman.In 1987 he married Patty Sisk, and together they were blessed with their two children, Kayla and Keon. He is survived by his father Darrell (Vera) of Dutton; his children Kayla and Keon, along with their mother Patty from Power; sister, Julie (Russ) Sperry of Lavina and their children Caleb and Rachel; as well as many family and friends. John was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis and brother Paul.
