John P. Gunness

John Peter Gunness, 57, of Great Falls passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at his residence. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 3:00 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel.Arrangements are being handled under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. John was born July 3, 1956 in San Rafael, CA to Robert C. and Marian E. Gunness.After graduating from CMR High School, he proudly served in the United States Navy. Most recently he worked as a customer service representative for NEW. He enjoyed being a member of the Great Falls Area Amateur Radio Club and absolutely loved spending time in the fall at the family cabin on Seeley Lake. John is survived by his sisters, Roberta Smith and Anna (Glenn) Carter both of Great Falls; brother Dave (Becky) Gunness; nieces Linsey (Josh) Shannon, Jyn Henzel, and Dawn (Luke) O’Meara; nephews Landon (Dina) Smith, Joshua (Amanda) Henzel, and Tyler Carter; and numerous great-nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert C. Gunness, Marian S. May; step-father Edward C. May, and brother-in-law Landon Smith Jr.
