Jose Joe Guzman 59, of Billings, formerly of Great Falls, passed away Friday night, September 6, 2013 after a long battle with AML with his family by his side. Visitation will be held Thursday September 12, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm at OConnor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 13, 2013 at 10:00 am at OConnor Memorial Chapel Home with burial with military honors to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Joe was born January 9, 1954 in Toa Bajo, Puerto Rico. He was raised in New York with his brothers until he joined the Air Force and came to Montana and lived the rest of his life. He served 22 years in the Air Force. After retiring from the military, he worked 11 years at CUSource, then 5 years with base housing. Joe enjoyed playing softball in his younger days. He enjoyed fishing and boating with his family and friends. He became involved with anything outdoors and Montana history. Joe is survived by his wife of 39 years, Wanda Guzman; daughter Reina (Levi); grandson Caleb; brothers David (Kury) Guzman, Charlie (Gayle) Guzman and Nelson Guzman all of Florida. He is also survived by his Montana family, Gene (Tammy) McGillis, Alfred (Barb) McGillis, Steve McGillis, Timmy (Trish) McGillis, Kevin (Michelle) McGillis, David (Pam) McGillis, Sherry (Donald) Azure, and Phyllis McGillis. He also has numerous nieces and nephews and friends that will miss him greatly. Even though he was in Billings for a short while he will leave behind many friends that he has made. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Pepito Guzman; mother Carmen Guzman; father-in-law Joe McGillis; mother-in-law Edna McGillis; brother-in-law Richard McGillis; and his best friend who recently passed Robert Lindsey.
