Joseph “Joe” Faulhaber, 83, of Great Falls passed away Friday, October 9, 2015. Private family services will be held late next summer. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Joseph was born on March 4, 1932 in Mott, North Dakota. He graduated high school in Lefor, ND and went on to attend Dickinson College for a short time before joining the United States Air Force in 1951. Joe proudly served for over 20 years before retiring as a Master Sargent in 1971. In 1960 he met the love of his life Mary Marcie Lopez and the two were united in marriage in April of 1961 at Sacred Heart in Miles City. He worked at the United States Post Office for over 20 years in Great Falls as a clerk at the main office until his retirement in 1992. After retiring, he was finally able to follow his grandchildren to every sporting event they had. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, even if it meant cheating a little to get them finished! He was a big supporter of local baseball, especially if his grandson, Tanner was involved. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Marcie Faulhaber of Great Falls; son Mark (Sharon) Faulhaber of Thornton, CO; daughter Lori (Doug) Collier of Great Falls; sister Rose Barth of Dickinson, ND; step-brother Ervin Schiff of Dickenson, ND; and grandchildren Abie, Tanner, Sydney, Adam, and Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Faulhaber and Elizabeth (Schiff) Schroeder; brothers Raymond and Reinhold; and numerous aunts and uncles.
