Judy (Ellsworth) Waring

Judy (Ellsworth) Waring, 76, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Benefis Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 610 2nd Avenue N, in Great Falls. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Judy was born February 13, 1940 in Townsend, Montana. She graduated from Broadwater High School in 1957. Over the years she did various office jobs, and then became a teacher, retiring in 1998. In 1966, Judy married Joseph Ellsworth who passed away in 1998. She later met and married her best friend Russ Waring. Judy was a member of Sons of Norway, Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Great Falls Flower Growers, and Retired Teachers. She also volunteered at Benefis Hospital and Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, working at both for over 18 years. Survivors include her husband Russ; son Chris (Karen) Ellsworth; grandson Matt Ellsworth; granddaughter Jessica Ellsworth, all of Helena; stepson Terry (Sharon) Ellsworth of Mandan, North Dakota; sister Katie Swallow of Petaluma, California; stepson Michael Waring of Great Falls; step daughter Janet (Rich) Rowe of Glendive, MT; and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and May Sitton; brothers Bob and George Sitton; and stepson Doug Ellsworth.
