Kathryn Brewer

June 1, 1932 — December 5, 2013

Kathryn “Katie” Margaret Brewer, 81, of Great Falls went home to the Father on Thursday, December 5, 2013 of natural causes after a long enduring and courageous battle with Alzheimer disease. A vigil service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 5 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 1 pm at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. O’Conner Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Katie was born June 1, 1932 in Gage, MT. She was raised in Roundup and received her diploma from Roundup High School. Katie worked at Kress’s clothing store in Great Falls and moved on to work for the Cascade County Nursing Home. Katie met and married Harold L Brewer on July 26 1952 in Great Falls. Katie has accomplished so much in her life, but one of her greatest accomplishments was surviving breast cancer. She enjoyed bowling, camping, and boating trips with family and friends. Katie volunteered her time to several organizations over the years and her favorite was the coffee cart at the Columbus Hospital where she would visit with patients and their families. Kathryn is survived by her children, David (Denise) Brewer of Havre, Grace (Giles) Salyer of Henderson NV, Ronald Brewer of Great Falls, and Ronda (Gary) Richerson of Great Falls; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Brewer (1996); mother Amy Dylina; father Joseph Dylina; sister Annie; and brothers Joseph, Phillip, Chester, Leo, Melvin, and twin brother Larry. The family would like to thank the staff of Benefis skilled nursing home for the care and treatment of our mother. In lieu of flowers gifts may be made in Katie’s name to the Alzheimer’s foundation or the cancer foundation.
