Kimberly Kay Gaub, 57, was born September 9, 1960 to Ted and Sally Gaub in Billings. Our "Kimi" died peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2018 after a brief illness. She graduated from Great Falls High in 1978, earned her bachelor’s at the College of Great Falls, and her master’s from Northern Montana College.Kimi loved teaching. She started her career in the Great Falls school district in high school as a library aide "up on the hill."After receiving her teacher's certificate, she taught for many years at several elementary schools around the city. She is survived by her brothers, their wives, nieces, a nephew, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and her cat. Readers should know that her brothers were unable to be with Kimi last week, but she was far from alone.Fifteen years ago, Kimi had the misfortune of suffering a debilitating stroke with resultant disability which confined her to wheelchair.Great Falls was her home.Even after her stroke she refused to move to be near her brother. Her church community discovered and adopted her. They provided her unimaginable support and were true friends. They uniformly tell her brothers of how much more Kimi gave them. Services are planned at her Church of Christ on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. Her brothers request that in lieu of flowers, to consider memorials be given to the Church of Christ Building to Bless Campaign, 3400 Central Avenue, Great Falls, MT 59401.
