Leah M. Himsl Jupka, 95, of Great Falls, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at a local care facility. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, followed by a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Holy Spirit, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Leah was born in Plevna, MT on April 21, 1922, to Victor and Clara Himsl. She attended University of Montana and also John Hopkins University, graduating college in three years with honors. Leah was the head dietician of Deaconess Hospital until her retirement in 1986. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish, member of the Ladies Altar Society, and Eucharist Minister. Family and her church were always priority in her life. She loved baking for family and friends, and she was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs. Leah is survived by daughter Constance Jupka of Williston, ND; sons Ronald (Kris) Jupka of Great Falls, Dennis (Pat) Jupka of Helena, and Gary (Sheila) Jupka of Missoula; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Jupka; seven brothers and sisters; and her parents.
