Leona Udall, 82, of Great Falls passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Peace Hospice. A memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Leona Udall was born in Kalispell, Montana and was the daughter of Alice and Marlin Ream of Bigfork, MT. She was raised on a small farm and was always involved with any of the work that needed doing. During her elementary school years she attended a small country school and then did her high school years at Bigfork. After high school she worked at various jobs in the area. While working at the Flathead Lake Lodge, she met Lou Udall who also worked there, and a few years later they were married starting a marriage that lasted 66 years. Leona was a very athletic, active, vibrant lady. She loved all sports and was a good swimmer, diver, baseball player and bowler. She also was very active and involved with the Water Ski Club and was a good water skier. During this time she was part of a six-girl pyramid on water skis and performed at water ski shows. In addition, she also flew the “parachute” at these same shows. After they were married she followed Lou around for a few years as he pursued power line work. Tiring of the travel and moving around, they settled in Great Falls where they bought their first home and later owned and operated a business for 25 years. During her life time, Leona had been president of the Great Falls Chapter of “Women in Construction”, the Bowling Association, the Senior Pro Rodeo Association, and the Montana Cowgirls Association. She was a very kind, caring person, always ready to help anyone in need. She adored her son and two daughters and had a great time with the grandchildren as they came along. She is survived by her husband Lou; her son, Ron (Noreen) Udall of Great Falls; her daughters, Linda (Rick) Yurek of Stockett and LuAnn (Troy) Rinebarger of Billings; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
