LeRoy Robert Fransen, 90, an Army Veteran, railroad worker, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend died of natural causes Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home. Memorial Mass is 10 A.M., Saturday, April 29th at St. Ann’s Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Lee was born October 1, 1926 in Great Falls.He attended Franklin Elementary School and Great Falls High School.He served in the Army during World War II.Lee returned to Great Falls after being honorably discharged.After his return, he began working for Great Northern Railroad.He continued to work for the railroad until his retirement in 1984. On July 6, 1957, Lee married Loretta M. Karsky, the love of his life.Their adventure lasted over 60 years.They raised their daughter, Susie. Lee enjoyed golf, horseracing, and following his three grandsons with their activities.His favorite thing to do was “bumming” with his young daughter and then later “bumming” with his three grandsons.He loved to laugh, tease, and BS with all those who knew him.He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Lee is survived by his wife, Loretta; his daughter, Susie and husband Tracey Somerfeld; three grandsons, Vincent of Power, Travis of Malta, and Gustave of Helena. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Anna Fransen; and his brothers, Edward and Richard Fransen.The three feisty Fransen bothers are together again and up to their shenanigans in heaven.
