Leslie “Les” Snovelle of Helena, Montana passed away in Great Falls on May 31, 2023, at the age of 73.
Les was born to Eula and Walter E. Snovelle Sr. on December 9, 1949, at Lajes Field, Terceira Island, Azores Islands, Portugal. Les graduated from Great Falls High School, Class of 1968. He served in the U. S. Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist. He attended Dawson Community College in Glendive receiving an AA degree in general studies. Les also attended Missoula Vocational Technical Center and graduated with an AS Degree in Computer Technology. After working in the field, Les furthered his education in computer technology at Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood, WA. Les retired from the Montana Department of Corrections as a Programmer/Analyst.
He was born an artist and enjoyed painting until his recent passing. He had many submissions to the Montana State Fair of Great Falls. Les was also a very talented and accomplished carpenter. He enjoyed working with his hands throughout his life.
Les’ life was greatly influenced as a military dependent. Les was born overseas and traveled through Texas, Louisiana, Japan, and finally, with his family, settled in Great Falls, Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula and Walter Sr.; and brothers, Walter Jr. and Vaughn Snovelle.
Les is survived by his wife, Janet of 46 years; daughter, Angee(Jon) Steir; grandson, Jesse Steir; granddaughter, Makayla Marie (nee Steir) Medford; great-grandchildren, Alice and Angel Medford; brother, Gail (Terry) Snovelle of El Centro, California; sister, Lee (Rick) Egger of Chubbuck, Idaho; nieces and nephews, Michelle and Heather Snovelle, Ryan Happe, Edward, Roger, and Christopher Snovelle, Cory, Casey, and Misty Rilley.
There will be no public services in respect to his beliefs and wishes.
