Linda Agnes (Dacey) Babul, 88, of Great Falls and formerly of Nevada, IA, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died of natural causes April 10, 2013 at a local long term care facility. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Nevada. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Linda A. Babul was born November 16th, 1924 in Waltham, MA to William E. and Agnes A. (Pitts) Dacey, one of three surviving children. Her oldest brother, William E., died in infancy. She was raised and schooled in Waltham, and was working in Boston when she met her first husband, Wayne Boten, a Navy seaman, during WWII. They married in 1943, moved to Nevada, raised their three children, and then divorced in 1966. After her divorce, she returned to Waltham, MA and met and married Stanley V. Babul. The two of them loved travel and frequently crossed the country to see grandchildren and also travelled abroad, until Stan’s health declined with age. Linda was admired for her work ethic. She began to work at a young age and worked diligently clear into her 70’s. In Nevada, she worked at Rueben H. Donnelly, cooked at the local school and was a housekeeper. She was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and volunteered for many of her children’s activities. She was always happiest when she was with family and blessed them with boundless affection, support, and love. Linda was a friend to all who knew her. Her wonderful sense of humor, generous soul, and easy laugh will be missed by all who loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Mike) Karns of Great Falls; brother Robert (Clarrisa) Dacey of East Berlin, CT; grandchildren Cari (Jeff Lanphear) Karns, Chad (Heather) Karns, Christopher (Sarah) Boten, Michael (Marie) Boten, Tara Hatfield, Jason (Sarah) Boten, Raymond (Elizabeth) Boten, April Ostlund; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; older brother Henry and sister-in-law Harriet Dacey; husband Stanley Babul; and sons William Boten and Wayne Boten, Jr..
