Lisa Marie Laverdure-Stokes

Lisa Marie LaVerdure-Stokes passed away in Great Falls, MT on May 20, 2022, of a traumatic brain injury due to a lack of oxygen. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Ave N, Great Falls, MT. Lisa was born March 25, 1969, in Great Falls. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1987. She attended Montana State University in Bozeman for one year. She moved to Hollister, CA after securing a job as a nanny and finding the love of her life, Rob Stokes. They were married on Sept 7, 2002. She gained two beautiful step kids because of this union. Sadly, Rob became ill with ALS and passed away in 2009. Lisa moved back to Great Falls shortly after. In 2016 she married Wade Stout and after four years they amicably parted ways. She worked several years as a teacher’s aide and most recently as a home health aide before her health deteriorated. She was a loving mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She made many people laugh, feel comfortable and loved. Lisa is survived by her brothers, Daniel (Terri) LaVerdure and Paul Joe LaVerdure; sisters ,Yolanda “KK” (Calvin) Twoteeth, Paula (Gerald) LaVerdure, and Elizabeth Angulo; stepchildren, Sharlene (Eddie) Stokes and Kyle Stokes; grandchildren, Harper and Vivian Gallegos; uncles, Curtis (Bella) Valladolid, Ronnie Martinez, Joe Eagleshield, and Clint (Norine) Swimmer; aunts, Julie (Vern) Durand, Trina (Victor) Garza, Lana (James) Gardypie Swiftwolf, Charlene Eagleshield, Carmalita Pooyak, Carma (Gerry) Albert, and Sherry (Tony) Komeotis; grandmas, Josephine (Clarence) Swimmer, Lillian (Don) Pooyak; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Rob Stokes; parents, Dan and Maria LaVerdure; grandparents, Doris and Joe Valladolid, Joe and Norman Chicken, Gabriel (Pauline) Eagleshield, and Ralph and Madeline (Dess) LaVerdure; uncles, Victor Garza, Vernon Durand, Harvey LaVerdure, Ralph LaVerdure, Louie LaVerdure and Clifford King; and many other relatives.
