Marjorie Nerison

May 4, 1924 — March 30, 2017

Marjorie Nerison passed away on March 30, 2017 at the age of 92. Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be scheduled for May 4, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to the Faith Lutheran Church building fund or a charity of your choice. Marge was born May 4, 1924 in Ames, Iowa. She attended Iowa schools and graduated from Woodburn High School in 1941. She attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and worked in offices prior to her marriage to John Nerison in 1944. The couple farmed for ten years in North Dakota and later lived in Absarokee and Missoula before moving to Great Falls in 1970. Although she spent most of her life as a homemaker, she worked several years in her husband’s insurance office. John died in 2000 and in 2013 she moved in the Highgate Senior Center. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Martha Circle; she enjoyed cooking, music, church activities, and family gatherings. You never left her table hungry and was known for her famous Swedish Meatballs. Marge and John celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1994 with a train trip to Seattle with their three sons, spouses and granddaughters, Heather and Stacy. A few years later they traveled to visit the Scandinavian countries with friends, Sam and Angie Juvick. They enjoyed visiting John’s mother’s birthplace in Norway and their meeting their many cousins there and in Sweden. Special thanks go to Dr. Addison, his staff, and to Highgate and their staff for the wonderful care our mother received. Survivors include three sons John P. (Judy) Nerison of Boise, Idaho, Don A. (Carol) Nerison of Fort Shaw, and Richard Nerison of Missoula; four grandchildren Heather (Todd) Chamberlin, Stacy Nerison, Bryan and Zach Nerison; one great-granddaughter Katie Dowell; two great grandsons Dillon and Brison Kjelsrud; and one great-great-granddaughter Maylee Pierce. She is preceded in death by her husband John; parents Myrtle and Stanley Ochanpaugh; and brothers George and Dennis Ochanpaugh.
