Marjorie Wilson

May 27, 1938 — November 5, 2013

Marjorie Ann (Baluka) Wilson, 75, of Great Falls, passed away November 8, 2013 at Peace Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 7 pm to 9 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10 am at O’Connor Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Marjorie was born in Great Falls on May 27, 1938 to William Valentine Baluka and Floretta (Fitzhugh) Baluka. She was the third of seven children. Marjorie Wilson, who worked as a switch board operator for Columbus/Benefis Hospital, was known by friends and co-workers as “the voice of the hospital” where she worked for 33 years. Marjorie will be remembered as a compassionate loving source of strength and wisdom with stern family values, unwavering faith in the lord and blessed with a vibrant sense of humor. Marjorie took little enjoyment in nonproductive activities; she was always busy working around the house, cooking old family recipes and teaching her grandchildren how to bake in the manner she had been taught. She was most happy during the holidays when she could bake care packages full of desserts for all her relatives and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Marjorie loved working for the hospital and avoided talking about retirement, but after much coercing from her children she finally agreed in late 2010. Marjorie always left an impression on anyone who came in contact with her and was never afraid to speak her mind with a delightful wit. She is survived by her 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 4 siblings. Her children, Anthony “Tony” Wilson (Sandee) of Hawthorne CA, Linda Wilson of Great Falls, MT, Norman “Dean” Wilson (Theresa) of Temecula CA, William “Bill” Wilson of Casper WY, and Robert “Bob” Wilson (Marsha) of Great Falls MT; grandchildren Lindsay, Courtney, Brooklynn, Dean, Madison, Michael, and Dylan; siblings Don, Joyce, Lillian, and Dan. She was preceded in death by her parents William Baluka and Floretta Baluka; and brothers Thomas and William.
