Martha Faber

Martha Faber, 90, of Great Falls, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at her home with family by her side. A public visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at O’Connor Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Schlund officiating, burial to follow at Highland Cemetery. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Martha was born on September 6, 1925 in Marienfeld, Ukraine to Gottlieb and Juliana Muller. She received all her education in the Ukraine. She met and married the love of her life Wilhelm Faber. They were wed on March 15, 1943 in Poland. Wilhelm and Martha moved to the United States in 1952 and made their way to Great Falls, Montana in 1961. They had four children. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Her biggest interest was her family. She was a great cook, baker and loved family gathering with lots of good food. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed many other crafts such as knitting and she spent many hours with her husband designing and producing beautiful decorated eggs. For many years she looked forward to her weekly quilting session with her good friends from Peace Lutheran Church. Martha is survived by her daughters, Lilli (Harry) Milton and Renate Weldele both of Great Falls, MT; sons, Manfred Faber and Fred Faber both of Billings, MT; sister Berta Knels of Germany; grandchildren, Greg Milton, Christi Virts, Kama Hoaglund, Will Faber and Beth Gregg; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilhelm; her parents; brother Johann Muller; and grandson Bill Milton.
