Martha Jean Whitaker

Martha Frigge Whitaker, 76, of Great Falls, Montana, passed away at Peace Hospice on Thursday, August, 10, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. A Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm, August 31, 2017 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Ave North. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Martha was born August 31, 1940, in Helena, Montana to the late Norbert and Hazel Frigge. Martha grew up in Helena where she met her husband and best friend of 60 years while working as a car hop at Gerties Drive In. They married September 4, 1957 in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. Martha was a stay at home mom raising her three children and was a babysitter for several other children, including her grandchildren. In her spare time Martha loved to knit, crochet, and do embroidery as well as spend time with her family. Martha is survived by her husband, Alfred Whitaker; her 3 children, Edward (Kelly) Whitaker of Gresham, Oregon, Richard (Cindy) Whitaker of Great Falls and Laura (Frank) Barille of Great Falls; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.She is also survived by her 3 sisters, Cynthia, Margaret and Theresa; as well as 2 brothers, Norbert and Bernard.
