Matilda "Tilly" Grosse

Matilda “Tilly” (Causey) Grosse, 85, of Great Falls, a retired educator, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2013 from cancer at Peace Hospice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 am at Sunrise Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Tilly was born on October 19, 1927 in Dushau, MS to John and Willye Causey. She was raise in Laurel, MS and in 1950 she was united in marriage to Otto Grosse. She was a Title 1 math tutor at Sunnyside Elementary for many years. Tilly also played the organ at sunrise Presbyterian Church. She was a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League and also a member of the Great Falls Contract Bridge Club. Tilly is survived by her daughters, Rosemary Koch of Fort Benton and Gretchen (Greg) Pierce of Great Falls; sons Erich (Sharon) Grosse of Lancaster, CA, Carl (Denise) Grosse of St Paul, MN, and Kurt (Terri) Grosse of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Jane Lewis of Jackson, MS and Martha Hoering of Washington, DC; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Grosse in 1989. Memorials are suggested to Sunrise Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
