Michael “Mike” Lee Yelvington, age 63, passed away in the early hours of January 21, 2021. Michael was born on January 18, 1958, to Elizabeth Wombold and Kiahford Yelvington. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a trusted friend to many. He was a retired union concrete finisher who worked for Sletten Construction for many years, and he was a member of the Little Shell Chippewa tribe. He was known as a hardworking, kind, loyal, and deeply respectful man. Though often serious and quiet, he was also quick with a joke and loved to have a good time. He enjoyed playing pool, darts, and pinball. Above all else, he loved his family. Michael is survived by two children, Amanda (Josh) Williams and Jason Yelvington and partner, Alfredo Bracamontes-Ochoa; three grandchildren, Ajay and Brendan Khan, and Jameson Williams; four brothers, Mitch Yelvington, Mel Yelvington, Matt (Joan) Yelvington, and Dale Wombold; five sisters, Marcie (Dwight) Dahl, Mandy (Brian) Barnes, Linda McElmeel, Judy Adams, and Laurie Kelleher; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Wombold; stepfather, James Wombold; father, Kiahford Yelvington; sister, Mary Birnie; and brother, Ken Yelvington. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 am at O’Connor Memorial Chapel in Great Falls, followed by a graveside service to be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peace Hospice of Montana. If you are unable to attend due to personal COVID limitations, the family fully understands and welcomes any individual way of honoring Mike’s memory that feels safe and comfortable.
