Great Falls —Michael Harry Sabo, 62, of Great Falls passed away at his home of natural causes on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. A service will be held at a later day. Cremation has taken place under the direction of OConnor Funeral Home. Mike was born February 3, 1953 in Great Falls, Montana. Mike was a loving brother, father, uncle and most awesome husband and friend. He attended Great Falls High School and in his early teens he taught himself how to play the bass guitar. Mike and his brother Larry and best friend/brother Maurice Ross started a band called Brand X. Later, they started their second band called Strongheart, where Mike won the best bass guitar player award in 1972 at the Giant Jam Session at CMR. Their band won awards at various Battle of the Bands throughout the Northwest. He then joined the Thorsen Brothers Band for the next few years. Mike also was an avid sports fan and his favorite team was the New York Yankees and you would find him always wearing something with the Yankees logo on it. He never missed watching the World Series. He loved the 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The one thing Mike loved the most was Millie and his music. Mike moved to San Francisco and worked as a computer operator with General Electric Credit Corp, where he met and married the love of his life his, wife Millie. They then moved back to his true home in Great Falls, where he worked for Green Acres and then Murphs Party Bowl. Those he touched will miss his ability to listen and offer whatever he could of himself, but most of all his love of music and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Millie; brother Jack (Debbie) Sabo of Great Falls; sister Anna (Dean) Droppelman of Tacoma, WA; brother/friend Maurice Ross (Dianne) of Pocatello, ID; daughter Angela Sabo; 2 nieces and 4 nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and brothers in music: Tom, Dave and Larry Thorsen. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Harry Sabo; brother Larry Sabo; and sister Ruthie Sabo. Until we see you again our sweet Mike, we love and miss you.
