Nora Isabelle Tangen

Nora Tangen passed away on November 8, 2021, of natural causes. After a lengthy illness, she went to be with her Lord. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Nora was born in Lewistown, MT on December 1, 1937, to Harry and Isabel Scally. She graduated from St. Leo’s Catholic High School in 1955. Following a year of business school in Billings, she began working at the State Farm Regional Office in Lewistown. In 1959, she met and married David Tangen and began a marriage lasting 62 years. They have three children, Lorraine Tangen of Great Falls, Mitchell (Lisa) of Appleton, WI, and Robert (Ashleigh) of Princeton, NJ; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Dave and Nora made many trips to Massachusetts to visit Dave’s mom, as well as trips to New Zealand and Ireland to meet Nora’s extended family. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. Nora also enjoyed raising her children and working as a teacher’s aide at Sunnyside Elementary School. She spent many days looking after her two oldest granddaughters after school.
