Patricia “Patt” or “Patty” or “Popo” Carol Barton, 75, of Great Falls, Montana passed away November 12, 2016 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday November 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Cathedral in Great Falls, MT. A private inurnment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Fairfield. Arrangements are in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Patt was born December 13, 1940 in Fairfield, Montana to James and Gladys (Randall) Sands. Patt spent her childhood in Fairfield, Montana where she graduated from Fairfield High School in 1959. She attended and graduated from Volkman’s Beauty School in Great Falls, and worked as a beautician. She later worked for Buttrey Food and Drug in Great Falls and Conrad in various positions for 28 years. She went on to work for the Cascade County Sheriff’s Department, and finally she finished out her work at D.A. Davidson where she was the smiley face that greeted all of their customers. She was a devoted Catholic, who enjoyed attending mass regularly. Her greatest passion was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a strong and independent woman, who had a fun loving personality. Patt is survived by four children Jeffrey (Debbie) Barton of San Jose, California, Nancy Barton of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Bryan (Liza) Barton of Longmont, Colorado, and Peggy O’Brien of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; one brother Dan (Rita) Sands of Fort Shaw, Montana; one sister Mary Eliason of Great Falls, Montana; six grandchildren Ashlee, Caley, Adam, Riley, Daniel, and Emily; three great-grandchildren Benjamin, Charlie, and Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Kathleen Sands and Marge Jerome, and one brother Jim Sands. The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Ann’s Cathedral 715 3rd Ave. N.
