Richard J. Stelzer

Richard “Rick” Stelzer, 71, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from a long battle with cancer at Peace Hospice in Great Falls. A memorial service will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at UCC Church in Fairfield, MT. In lieu of flowers please donate to a non-profit Animal rescue as Rick enjoyed rescuing puppies who loved him dearly. Rick was born July 2, 1946 in Wolf Point and was raised in Lewiston, MT.He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps right after high school. After his honorable discharge from the military he enjoyed several different careers.Some of his favorites were Highway Patrolman, mechanic, and rural postal carrier. Rick enjoyed working on older cars and watching old movies.He enjoyed cartoons and Disney movies with his grandchildren. Rick is survived by his wife, Susan Stelzer of Power; daughter Michelle (Darren) Crisp; son Richard Stelzer; brother Robert (Charlotte) Stelzer; sister Elaine (BJ) Kristiansen; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Pearl Stelzer.
