Rick “Woody” Woodward, 54, passed away on Friday, September 20th, 2013 in Billings, MT. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00am at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Avenue North, Great Falls, MT. Arrangements entrusted to O’Connor Funeral Home. Rick was born in Havre, MT on April 15, 1959 and spent most of his life in Montana. He graduated from CMR in Great Falls in 1977. He married Beth Plaine on March 29th, 1985. Rick loved being a father to their son Zachary and always stated how proud he was of him and that his goal in life was for Zach to be happy! After spending many years in Montana, Rick moved to Arizona in 2006 where he eventually planned to spend his retirement years. Rick’s passion was woodworking. He started his career with Sletten Construction as an apprentice carpenter and became a superintendent over the years. Rick loved the challenge of new building projects in Montana and Nevada and worked for Sletten Construction for 32 years. Sletten became his “work” family and he was always appreciative of the opportunities he had with the company. Rick also loved to golf with his “Sletten Buddies” and took every opportunity to enjoy his time on the golf course. He enjoyed the time he had in Arizona loving the sun, sightseeing, landscaping, cooking, and making salsa. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beth of Casa Grande, AZ; son Zachary (Chelsea) of Las Vegas, NV; parents, Myron and Betty Woodward of Kalispell; sisters Anita (Dan) Shipley of Boise, ID, and Kelly (David) Kiehn of Kalispell, MT; brother Mike (Paula) Woodward of Boise, ID; many in-laws and numerous other nephews, nieces, and friends. He is preceded in death by his son Trenton Jay Woodward.
