Robert M. Bryant, 89, of Fairfield, Montana, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at O’Connor Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at New Life Church in Fairfield with a private family burial to be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Robert was born on December 20, 1931, to Russel and Oma Bryant in Palestine, Illinois. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1949 and went on to receive his pastoral certificate from Berean School of the Bible (Assembly of God). Robert started as a pastor in Eldorado, IL. He then served as pastor for Browning, Baker, Plains, and Fairfield. He was the children’s pastor in Great Falls for 10 years. He then served as a senior adult pastor for 2 years also in Great Falls. He was an active Assembly of God minister for 60 years. He was a carpenter when he wasn’t serving his flock. He worked at Diehl Lumber Company in Plains as a millwright and night supervisor, UBC in Fairfield and Conrad as an assistant and manager, and finally self-employed as a construction contractor. Robert married Evie Elizabeth Cox. They were together for 21 years until she was tragically killed in a car accident. He married JoAnn Reisig in Tillamook, Oregon on May 18, 1974. They were together for 47 years. He was active as a Boy Scout leader, Little League coach, PTA officer, and a high school Oratorical judge. Robert also served as President of the Senior Citizen Center at the Fairfield Drop In and was on the board of directors for the Teton County Agency on Aging. Robert is survived by his wife, JoAnn; son, Mark (Sandra) Bryant; daughter, Rhonda Tewalt; grandchildren, Angela (Jake) Daum, Lindsay (Ken) Lanzel, Christopher (Vicki) Tewalt, and Andrea (Jeremy) Watson; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oma and Russel Bryant; first wife, Evie; sisters, Violet Davis and Betty Edwards; grandson, Curtis Tewalt; and son-in-law, Tom Tewalt.
