Robert Charles Meyers, 82, of Great Falls, died the evening of Thursday, September 12, at home of natural causes. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by 3 of his children and his wife. The Rosary will be recited Tuesday, September 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the O'Connor Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, at 11:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church followed by entombment at the Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Mausoleum. Robert (better known to his friends as Bob) was born on October 14, 1936, in Great Falls. His parents were Edward Meyers and Ruth Brennan. He also had a close relationship with his grandparents, Bob and Augustine Brennan. He married Darlene Buck in 1954; together they had 2 children (Bob Jr and Laura).In 1961, Bob and Roberta Mares had a son, Steve.In 1968, Bob married Patricia Kinder.In 1971, Bob married whom would be the love of his life, Diana Mancoske, together they had 2 children (Angela and Bill).Bob and Diana had shared almost 50 years together. Bob worked for the Great Northern and BNSF Railroad where he worked as a fireman, truck driver and brakeman and after 40+ years he retired in 1996.Bob was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.During his life he served in the Montana Air National Guard and belonged to the Elk's, Eagle's and Moose Clubs.He enjoyed hunting, fishing and fly-fishing.He enjoyed playing the bugle in the Elk's Club Drum and Bugle Corp.He also enjoyed making his rounds drinking his favorite brew and visiting friends at many establishments in Great Falls.He was a fan of Griz football and enjoyed attending their games. Survivors include his wife, Diana of Great Falls; three sons, Bob Meyers Jr and Bill Meyers of Great Falls, Steve (Theresa) Dewar of Billings and two daughters Angela (Tony) Meyers-Cox of Great Falls and Laura (Earl) Scherer of Bismarck ND; seven grandchildren, Cory Scherer, Heather Schaff, Amy Wise, Rani Brennan, Matt Dewar, Megan Dewar and Nate Dewar; and five great-grandchildren, Faith, Ostyn, Lucas, Logan and Caroline.Bob was preceded in death by both his parents (Ed and Ruth), his only brother (Ed Meyers) and nephew (Eddie Jr).
