Robert E Wombolt

Robert Eugene Butch Wombolt, 80, of Billings passed away from lung cancer on Friday, June 6, 2014 in Great Falls, MT. A graveside service will be held at the Laurel Cemetery on July 12, 2014 at 10:00 am. Cremation has taken place under the direction of OConnor Funeral Home in Great Falls. Bob was born in Laurel on October 26, 1933 to George Wombolt Jr and Amelia “Emma” (Metzger) (Wombolt) Hawk. He grew up and went to school in Laurel, MT. Bob married Sharon Haines and raised four sons. He worked for many years as a truck driver and then volunteered as a driver for the Department of Veterans Affairs, driving veterans to appointments a total of over 250,000 miles. Bob was a United States Air Force veteran. He loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his sons, Joel (Kim) Wombolt of Great Falls, Todd (Osmar) Wombolt of Billings and Scott (Laurie) Wombolt of Butte; brother Ed (Grace) Wombolt of Valdosta, GA; sisters Pearl (Rich) Unterseher of Casper, WY, Joanne Wilson of Montrose, CO, and Arlene Arispe of Billings; grandchildren Cristy Kenniff, Jennifer Klein, Brandon Wombolt, Jeffrey Wombolt, Emma Wombolt, and Elli Wombolt; great-grandchildren Winter and Patrick Kenniff; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
