Ronald "Ron" Lindseth

September 18, 1940 — June 24, 2014

Ronald Arthur Lindseth, 73, of Great Falls, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus, June 24, 2014 at his home, ending his struggle with cancer. His illness never robbed him of his smile, love, and uncomplaining nature. Visitation will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 from 4 pm to 7 pm at O’Connor Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10 am at Fairview Baptist Church, 216 9th Street North. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Ron was born September 18, 1940 in Great Falls to Art and Ethel (Briggs) Lindseth. He grew up on a farm, and later ranch, with a loving family and two brothers, where they had acres and acres to enjoy and play together. He graduated from Valier High School and Northern Montana College in Havre. He attended MSU Bozeman becoming a Bobcat fan forever. He served in the Air National Guard for six years. He married the love of his life, Giuliana (Julie) Vanni on June 29, 1968 in Great Falls. Sunday would have marked their 46th anniversary. Two daughters were born to themMichelle and Jodee. His profession for over 50 years was in drafting/surveying field, working for several Great Falls firms, until opening his own business, Lindseth Survey Co. in 1987. He developed many lasting relationships with his many clients, and was known for his honesty, hard work, and putting the client first. He sold the business in 2005, but never truly retired. In his young years, he held a pilot’s license, loved to take family and friends flying, even his white-knuckled father-in-law, who at the time had never been in an airplane, let alone a small craft! Later his interests were consumed by family activities, coffee time with family and friends, some golf, and travel. So many dear and happy memories of family times spent in Italy, California, and many other trips around this country. However, his love was for Montana. His greatest passion was his love of Jesus Christ, whom, as a young boy he received as his Savior. He loved studying the Bible and Christian history. A faithful member of FBC for over 40 years, he served where needed; many years driving Sunday school bus, picking up children all over town, to learn about the Savior. He introduced his two daughters to this ministry of loving people. He taught Jr. Church and served as a deacon. He was on the building committees when the church moved to their downtown location in 1972, and now as his church home looks to the future at their new facility. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Julie; daughters Michelle (Dan) Zuidema and Jodee (Jeff) Simpson; grandchildren Jesse Zuidema, Jake Zuidema, Emma Simpson, and Wesley Simpson all of Great Falls; brothers Larry (Bev) Lindseth of Great Falls and Monarch, Raymond (Lorna) Lindseth of Dupuyer and Choteau; aunt Marjorie Halvorson of Billings, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Ethel Lindseth, and his in-laws Giulio and Emilia Vanni. The family would like to thank Dr. Karl Guter, Dr. Donald Roten, Benefis Hospital and the staff of Peace Hospice for their great compassionate care. We are forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ron’s name may be directed to the Fairview Baptist Church Building project.
