Ronald “Ron” Dean Hanni, 81, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Peace Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Laurel Cemetery in Laurel, Montana.
Ron was born on August 19, 1943, in Billings, Montana to Edward and Audra (Shandy) Hanni. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Army for two years. He served his country proudly and went to college at MSU where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture because he always wanted to be a farmer like his dad.
He met Donna Rose Ingraham and they were married for 36 years before she passed away. Together they had four daughters, Ranee, Hyla, Joylene, and Angela.
Throughout his life, Ron owned and lived on the ranch by Cooney Dam in Roberts, Montana. He worked his sheep ranch while he traveled back and forth to Laurel working for the railroad as a carman. Later in life, he converted the ranch to a wheat farm.
He was involved in a non-denominational home Bible study group in the Billings area. He also enjoyed hunting.
Ron is survived by his four daughters; sister, Danna Bertolino; brother, Ray Hanni; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; parents, Edward and Audra; and brother, Jesse.
