Rose M Dirkes

Rose Marie Dirkes, 94, of Power passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2014 at a Great Falls assisted living center. A vigil service will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 7:00 pm at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Funeral liturgy will be held Monday January 27th at 11:00 am at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Power with graveside services to follow at 2:30 pm at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls. Rose was born in Great Falls on July 27, 1919 to Joseph Lenherz and Catherine Toeckes Lenherz. She was raised in the Power area and graduated from Power High School. Rose played on the first basketball team for Power High School and received many awards for playing basketball. Rose married William “Bill” Andrews October 12, 1938. She retired from Safeway after 23 years. Bill passed away in 1964. In January of 1969, Rose was united in marriage Richard Dirkes. She was a member of the Guardian Angel Altar Society in Power for many years. Rose is survived by her son, Dan (Laile) Andrews of Power; daughters Jan (Jim) Thomas of Humbold, AZ, Judy (Ron) Radovich of Great Falls, and Diane (Tim) Poor, of Vaughn; sister-in-law Barb Lenherz of Great Falls; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Andrews; husband Richard Dirkes; son William Dean Andres and grandson Johnny Thomas. Donations may be made to Guardian Angel Catholic Church.
