Rose Mary (Kuich) Thumm, 76, of Great Falls, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Benefis Peace Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, March 28, 2014 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Ave N, Great Falls. Inurnment will take place at a later date. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Rose was born June 3, 1937 in Great Falls, to Aloysius Frank and Mary Margaret (Bosch) Kuich. She was raised in Great Falls, attending Saint Thomas Boarding School and Central Catholic High School. In 1955 she married John Tolson, living in the Seattle area and then in Great Falls and Fairfield. They had four sons. Divorced, she later married Richard Thumm on April 16, 1971. They made their home in Great Falls. Rose worked various jobs after high school. In her later years, she started a commercial cleaning service in Great Falls, which she ran for 22 years. She is survived by her husband Richard of Great Falls; sons Michael Tolson of Great Falls, Ralph (Mary) Tolson, and Steven Tolson of St. Petersburg, FL; stepsons Douglas Thumm of Colorado and Jerry Thumm of Idaho; sister Ruth (Tom) Austin of East Helena; grandchildren Mary Rose (Tolson) Stewart of Columbia Falls; Daniel, Tracy, and Chrissy Tolson of St. Petersburg, FL; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose is preceded in death by her parents; oldest son William Tolson; brothers Richard and Ralph Kuich; and stepson Mitchell Thumm. Rose will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorials in Rose’s name may be made to Benefis Peace Hospice, 1101 26th Ave S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
