Early in the morning on September 18, 2021, Roy A. Back, 57, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a short but grueling battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. Roy was born on October 8, 1963, to Velma and Russell Back in Great Falls, MT. He spent most of his life in and around the Great Falls area. In 1994, Roy met the love of his life, Julie. They were married on May 6, 1995. Roy was full of life and was always willing to help any person in need. He enjoyed hunting, camping, boating, and spending time with family and friends. If Roy met a stranger, they weren’t a stranger for long. Roy worked for several years for Fast Car Wash before starting his own business of Roy’s Backhoe Service and A&A Septic Service. Roy took great pride in his work and loved sharing his accomplishments. Roy was a great son, brother, husband, and dad, and will be missed by all who knew him. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Back (1969), Vernon Peck (2015), and Velma Peck (2021). Roy is survived by his wife, Julie Back; children, Shane, Matthew (Jenny), Justin, Tyler (Ali), and Shelbie (Tyler); siblings, Jolinda (Tom), Tammie (John), Robert “Buck” (Shannon), and Greg; 12 grandchildren, Mason, Bentley, Lincoln, Kellen, Jackson, Connor, Maddy, Alice, Asher, Sharon, William, and David. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagles (1501 9th Street South). The family requests any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in Roy’s honor.
