Roy William Martin, 73, of Cascade, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Peace Hospice. Private services will be held in Pennsylvania and he will be laid to rest in the Cemetery of the National Alleghanies in Bridgeville, PA. Cremation is in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Roy was born in Bridgeville, PA to Charles and Martha Martin on October 7, 1943. Roy was raised in Pennsylvania and after high school he served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam in the late 1960’s. When he was discharged he moved to Denver, CO and worked for United Airlines as an Airline Mechanic. He worked with United until he retired in the 1990’s. At that time he moved to Montana living in the mountains until he bought a home in Cascade, MT in 2002. Roy was a lifelong Steelers fan and he enjoyed walking, fishing, and he was especially known for his one-liner jokes. He is survived by brother-in-law Jim Brittain of Burgettstown, PA; nephew Brian (Sandi) Brittain of New Eagle, PA; niece Cindy (Dave) Conklin of Washington, PA; and cousins Mary Ann Martin Leonard, Lynne (Walt) Martin-Huber, and Eugene Charles Martin III, all of Bridgeville, PA. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and sister Alma Brittain.
