Roy Joseph McDunn, 87, passed away at his home on March 31, 2015 in Billings, with his wife of 35 years and family at his side. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 9:30 am at OConnor Memorial Chapel located at 2425 8th Avenue North. A graveside service will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2101 26th Street South. Roy was born June 3, 1927 to LeRoy and Marie (Qunell) McDunn in Square Butte, MT. One of 8 children, he was raised on a farm in Manchester and attended school at St. Marys in Great Falls. Roy served in the Army during WWII, as part of the occupation force in Japan. He was a successful businessman in Great Falls; owning several businesses including West Side Standard Service Station, 9th Street Standard, 15th Street Standard, Silent Knight Muffler Shop and McDunns Car Wash. Roy married the love of his life, Janell (Spahr) McDunn February 14, 1980 and they made their home in Great Falls, Cascade, and most recently in Billings. Roy was an active member in the Catholic Church, serving as treasurer for many years at Sacred Heart in Cascade, and was a member of Holy Spirit in Great Falls. He was also a member of the Great Falls Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus, and Elks Lodge #214. Roy is survived by his wife, Janell McDunn of Billings; son Royce McDunn of Great Falls; daughters Roxanne (Don) Hartman of Spokane, WA; Ruann (John) Friedrick of Woodland, WA; and Rashel (Dale) Richard of Spokane; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Rosemarie Lesmeister in 1979; and brother Henry McDunn in 2014. Roy was a man of faith and will be missed.
