Sharon K. Gribble

Sharon Kay (Butler) Gribble, 58, of Great Falls passed away on November 28, 2014 after a long battle with ovarian cancer at Peace Hospice with her family at her side. Per her request no services are being planned. A family gathering will be announced at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Sharon was born in Great Falls in 1956 and graduated from Centerville High School, where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. After graduation she worked at the 4B’s Restaurant until moving to Pennsylvania, while there she met and married her husband Tony in 1980. She worked as a cook and actually prepared a meal for Kool and the Gang and Waylon Jennings. Sharon moved back to Montana in 1981 where she remained for the rest of her life and worked as a cook, hotel maid and manager. She played softball, loved bowlinggoing to many state and national tournaments, spending time with friends and family, watching baseball (avid Jeter fan) and basketball (Michael Jordan fan). She looked forward to her annual trip to Las Vegas visiting friends. Sharon is survived by her husband Anthony “Tony” Gribble; daughters Shannon Mogensen, Sara Gribble; granddaughters Lena and Kinsley Mogensen, all of Great Falls; sisters Diana (Lynn) Marsh of Fairborn, OH, Linda (Terry) Schott of Simms, and brother Larry (Debbie) Butler of Tracy; sister-in-law Andrea (Todd) Rhodes of Great Falls and brother-in-law Chris (Nikki) Gribble of Greenville, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Paulina Butler. The Gribble family would like to thank all doctors, nurses and staff associated with Benefis Hospital, Sletten Cancer Institute, Benefis Wound Clinic for their care and understanding, and Peace Hospice of Montana who made her remaining days enjoyable and peaceful.
