Tammy Fae (Garness) McGillis, 56, of Great Falls passed away September 25, 2013 at her home. Visitation is Monday, September 30, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at OConnor Funeral Home. A celebration of life is Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at OConnor Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are taking place under the direction of OConnor Funeral Home. Tammy was born September 16, 1957 to Donald and June Garness in Great Falls. She attended school in Great Falls and graduated from CM Russell High School in 1975. Tammy went on to earn her Associates Degree in accounting. She worked as a bartender and cashier at various locations in town. Tammy was an active part of the community and was involved in Special Olympics. She was always willing to lend a hand and thought of others before herself. She enjoyed crocheting, making fleece blankets and puzzles. Above everything in her life, she loved and cherished her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Darrel Gene McGillis; daughters Keri Horton, Ronelle (Peter) Darcy, Shanelle LaVallie, Rebecca McGillis, Bridgette (Darren) McGillis, and Kris Pozder; sons James (Serena) Steffenson, Joshua (Amy) Steffenson, Eusebio McGillis, Donovan (Chavonne) Horton, Sherm LaVallie, Shay LaVallie and Anthony Book ; father Don Garness and his special friend Marge; sister Mary Duvall; brothers Steve (Colleen) Garness and Dale Garness; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, June Garness and in-laws Joe and Edna McGillis, and Jose Guzman.
