Theresa Margaret Maki

Theresa M. Maki (McDunn) passed quietly away in her sleep early morning on December 16, 2021. She had been living at the Lodge, here in Great Falls, where she moved to shortly after her husband Charles passed away. She enjoyed her years there and was always involved in activities and games - where she once won a big teddy bear who she called “Theodore.” She would dress him up as well herself for most holidays and push him down in a wheelchair to the dining room for all to see. This brought her great joy as she would see the happy reactions from the other residents, she said “If I get just one smile it was worth my time and energy to dress him up!”

A vigil will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, also at Holy Spirit.

Theresa had always put herself out to take care of others. She was a school bus driver for many years and found it to be very fulfilling by taking on the responsibility. When her grandchildren were young, she created “Cousins Camp” for them to come together and get to know each other through different activities of her making and time spent at their family cabin in Seeley Lake, MT. She always kept you on your toes as she had a memory like an elephant and knew where everything was and how to find it.

She was loved and will be missed by her children, Terry Price, Berwick, PA, Cheryl Price (Willis Greiner), El Prado, NM, and Gary Maki (Denise), Great Falls, MT; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gene McDunn (Lula), Great Falls, MT and Michael McDunn (Sharon), Billings, MT.

Her favorite prayer was the Serenity Prayer: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” Theresa was 89 years old.
