Theresa Mae Walker

Theresa Mae Walker, 86, received her wings on December 13, 2023, just 4 days shy of her birthday.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, both at O’Connor Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.

She was born on December 17, 1937, to Edward R. and Pearle I. (Gallas) Duke in Lewistown, Montana. She was the eldest of three girls. She attended schools in Lewistown and went to college for one year studying nursing. During that Year she met her lifelong partner, James A. Walker in Lewistown and married him on June 10, 1956. Theresa and Jim adopted a son, Daniel Ray Walker and later, a daughter, Lisa Denise Walker to complete their family.

Theresa was a stay at home mom, wife, protector, caregiver, and all around force. She was involved in Boys and Girl Scouts, as well as many other organizations. She worked with the Learning Disabilities Association. She loved children, in addition to a multitude of nieces and nephews, she called Taylor Faulk, Marc Reed, Tarynn and Thomas Stott her grandkids. She had a special place in her heart for all children.

She loved crafts, crosswords, baking, country music, and especially CHOCOLATE.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Walker; her parents; stepdad, James O. Duke; two nephews, Keith and Kevin Heppner; niece, Penny Franz; and many other relatives and friends.

She is survived by her son, Daniel R. Walker; daughter, Lisa (Linda) Walker; sisters, Anita (Paul) Heppner and Carole Apedaile; several of Jim’s brothers and sisters; the four “grands;” and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa and Jim are watching over us until we see them again.
