Trudy Jean Pulst

Trudy Jean Pulst, 84, of Great Falls, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at her home surrounded by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation is in the care of O’Connor Funeral Home. Trudy was born on October 20, 1933 in Starkweather, North Dakota to John and Caroline Burkstrand. She attended schools through 8th grade in Crary, ND, and then attended high school in Black Eagle, MT. She married Robert Pulst in 1951 and they raised their children in Great Falls. Trudy worked in various cafes including the Polar Bear Café. Later she worked as a flagger on highway construction crews for 17 years. She never missed a shift and planned vacations in between work. She was a proud member of the Waitress and Laborers Unions. She also belonged to the Eagles’ Lodge. Trudy loved horse races, dancing, bingo, Keno, and her family. She was an Angel and helped everyone who needed it. She also enjoyed rides to Helena. Trudy is survived by daughter Darcy (John) Paliga of Vaughn, MT; sons Donald Pulst of Chester, MT, Charles, Gary (Helen), and Kelley Pulst of Great Falls; sisters Doris (Buster) Wheeler, LuAnn Myre, and Cindy Ramsey; brother Murlyn Burkstrand all of Great Falls; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren;two great great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, family and friends too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband “Bob” Pulst; daughter Jody King; sister Karen Balsley; brothers Bernard, Roger, and Neil Burkstrand; and grandson Thomas Pulst.
