Vivian Grace Hooper, 100, of Great Falls passed away November 16, 2014 of natural causes at Cambridge Court. No services are planned. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Vivian was born in Lewistown, MT on February 8, 1914 to Robert and Iva Ray. When she was seven years old, her family moved to Great Falls. She attended local schools and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1931. After high school, she went into nursing training at Deaconess Hospital and became a registered nurse in 1935. Her work as a registered nurse was in the state of Montana and the state of Washington. She married Clarke Grady in 1938 and he died in 1959. She then married Edward Hooper in 1962. After her marriage in 1962, they moved to Bremerton, WA where Edward passed away in 1975. Vivian returned to Great Falls in 1979. Her passion was playing the piano and organ, and reciting poetry. Vivian is survived by her son Kenneth (Virginia) Grady of Great Falls; grandchildren Steve (Meghan) Grady, Janet Allen, and Richard (Naomi) Allen; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and sister Jean (John) Wilson of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Garland Allen; sisters Phyllis Albright, Dorothy Lardner, and Lucile Ray. At the age of 100 years, she continued playing the piano and reciting poetry. Her mind was still remarkable.
