Ann Louise Stewart

June 30, 1943 — July 12, 2020

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that our family lost an amazing lady on July 12, 2020, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, MT. Mom, Ann Stewart, you were the glue that held our family together. You were the strongest person with the BIGGEST heart. We know that God has a very special spot in heaven waiting for you, Mom, as you are the very definition of an angel. Go breathe free without a machine and enjoy the pain free life that you deserve. We will miss you soooo very, very much! Ann Louise Bennett was born June 30, 1943, to Francis and Carol Bennett in Superior, WI. She attended Catholic schools in Superior until 1955. After her father departed to heaven, Ann and her mother moved to Chula Vista, CA for her mother to take a Registered Nurse position at Chula Vista Medical Center. Ann attended junior high and high school in Chula Vista and Lakeside, CA. Ann accompanied her mother to a dance at a San Diego Dance Hall and it was there she met a Navy sailor and future husband, Jerry Stewart. They married on February 5, 1960, in San Diego, CA and moved to Fairfield, MT the end of May 1960. Ann raised four kids and numerous friends of her kids over the years while taking care of a quadriplegic husband for 30 of those years. Ann was a member of the Fairfield JR Women's Club and proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Fairfield and Power. Ann lived in Fairfield for 47 years before moving to Power, MT to be closer to her family. Ann was lovingly known as "Grandma Annie" to many Power and Fairfield kids. Ann enjoyed attending all her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids events. She was a GREAT cheerleader and always had a big smile and a hug for every one of them. Ann Stewart is survived by her daughters, Carol June (Mark) Lehnerz of Power and Jere Lyn Blackwell of Great Falls; son, Robert Stewart of Power; brother, William Bennett of Joliet, IL; son-in-law, Tim Stocker of Choteau, MT; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Jim) Maberry of Great Falls, MT, Charlotte Engen of Surprise, AZ, and Patsy Coleman of North Las Vegas, NV.
