Carol was born on Good Friday, April 15, 1938 in Bismarck, North Dakota and was raised in Washburn, ND. Throughout her schooling she was involved in choir, band and FHA before graduating from Washburn High School. She continued her education by studying nursing in Rochester, MN at the Mayo Clinic.
