Joseph "Joe" Eugene Reardon

July 28, 1929 — April 12, 2018

Joseph Eugene Reardon was born to Francis John and Mary Ann Reardon on July 28, 1929. Due to his father’s premature death, he was raised by his mother Mary and Uncle James Reardon. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Helena MT in 1947. He attended the University of Portland, Carroll College and studied Engineering in Chicago after high school. Joseph proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the Marines in 1953. He met Shirley Simkins in 1953 and they were married in 1955. He worked as an engineer for Mountain Bell in Great Falls until he retired in 1984.Together they raised five children. Joseph and his family were active members of St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Church.He was a long time bowling league member at Little’s Lanes since 1962. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and camping with his family. He was the horseshoe champion at the family reunion. Joseph is survived by his children Jeannine Lee of Gypsy origin, John (Lori) Reardon of Great Falls, Janet Reardon and Julie Reardon both of Fort Collins, Colorado, James (Saule) Reardon of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren Mike Sorenson, Darby, Riley and Joseph Reardon, Sean and Samantha Lee;great -grandchildren Kyra Sorenson and Carson and Trace Reardon. He is also survived by his sister, Colleen LaPorte.He will be greatly missed by many. Visitation will be held at O’Connor Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19 from 6-8 p.m.Funeral liturgy will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Great Falls on Friday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m.Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Helena, Montana, at 2:00 p.m.
