Leonard Michael Shumski, 77 passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019, at home with familyby his side. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Graveside service is scheduled on July 3, 2019, at Fort Harrison Cemetery in Helena. A memorial mass at Corpus Christi Catholic Church is pending. Leonard was born June 17, 1942, to John Anthony and Julia Kraitz Shumski in Shenandoah, PA. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. armed services for 19 years. He eventually retired from Tidy Car LLC in Great Falls, where he made the most of his passion for hunting and fishing. Leonard is survived by his wife, DeliaShumski; sister, Mary Kay Wegner of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Peter of Roslyn, PAand Stanley of Frackville, PA; sons, John “Drew” of Lansdale, PA and Mark of Ft. Worth, TX; stepson Gary Eugene Bisel of Great Falls; stepdaughters, Toni Marie Sieglein of Maryland and Jacqueine Hjelm of Great Falls; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and numerousnieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Perpetual Adoration Society.
