Mary Louise (Boyer) Tucker “Mary Lou”, 77, passed away due to complications associated with congestive heart failure on March 8, 2015, in Great Falls. Funeral services will be held at Sunrise Presbyterian Church in Great Falls, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home. Mary Lou was born September 29, 1937, in her grandparent’s farmhouse in Meece, KY, to Samuel and Christine Boyer. In 1955 Mary Lou graduated from “Our Lady of Mercy” High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Northern Montana College in Havre and later graduated from Iron Business College in Pittsburgh, PA. She married Darrell Tucker on June 5, 1959, in Pittsburgh, PA and they had two sons and a daughter after moving back to Montana. Mary Lou will be remembered as a caretaker, a talented seamstress, and a quilting mentor. Her passions were sewing, quilting, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends. Mary Lou worked as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse near Havre, followed by a job at an accounting firm in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a Legal Administrative Assistant for many years in Missoula and Hamilton, and also worked as a salesperson at the Bon Marche’ department store in Missoula. Mary Lou taught quilting classes and worked at Timeless Quilts in Missoula and finished out her career at Big Sky Quilts in Great Falls. She is survived by her husband, Darrell D. Tucker of Great Falls; children Scott (Dorene) Tucker of Clinton, UT, Karla (Steve) Smith of Westminster, CO, Darren Tucker of Great Falls; 10 grandchildren in NY, UT, CO and WA states; and 20 great-grandchildren in UT and CO. Memorials are suggested to either Sunrise Presbyterian Church or to the “Prayer Quilt Ministry” at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Great Falls, MT.
