Patricia Ann Bushly-Johnson

Patricia Ann Bushly-Johnson, 89, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 26, 2021, at the Benefis Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana. Pat was born on June 27, 1932, in Lewistown, Montana to Lear and Mary Flanagan and was raised on a cattle ranch in the shadow of the twin sisters near Utica, Montana. She graduated in 1950 from the Fergus County High School located in Lewistown and then attended college at Montana State College in Bozeman, Montana getting degrees in both English and Art. In 1982 Pat took a sabbatical from teaching at East Junior High School in Great Falls to attend graduate school at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona and received a Master of Fine Arts degree. She then decided that rather than returning to teaching, she would pursue her lifelong love of art becoming a loved member of the Great Falls art community. She married Hugh Beausoleil (later changed to Bushly) on December 27, 1956, and unfortunately, lost him to cancer in 1971. She later met and married Dr. Alexander Johnson in November 1994 who passed away in 2007. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lear Sr. and Mary Flanagan; and her younger brother, John Flanagan. She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Lori), Thomas (Diane), and Robert (Nancy); granddaughter, Andrea (Josh) Stylen; her older brother, Lear (Mona) Flanagan Jr.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and step grandchildren. Please join us for a celebration of life to be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 12 noon in the Chapel Theatre at the Columbus Center located at 1601 2nd Ave N in Great Falls. A celebration of life will be held for Pat at a later date.
