Richard "Dick" Block

Richard “Dick” Block, 89, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Benefis. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at O’Connor Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, followed by entombment at Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum. Dick was born on November 18, 1928 in Melrose Park, Illinois. He received his education in Harvard, IL and shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged after six years of service and chose to settle in Great Falls. He started a construction career in Great Falls, which spanned 60 years. Dick married Peggy in 1978. He was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts, and was past Exalted Ruler of the Elks. Dick is survived by his loving wife; daughter Linda (Roy) Lowry of Helena; grandchildren Steven (Dani) Lowry, Samuel Lowry, Roy Lowry Jr., and Fox Lowry; three great grandchildren; step daughter LuAnn (Mike) Leverson of Richland, WA; step sons Tim (Sandra) Bodner of Santa Clarita, CA, James (Juliet) Bodner of Danville, CA, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Bodner of Portland, OR; ten step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Greg Block; and daughter Kathryne Lacy.
