Shan Dwaine Hinkle, 51, of Great Falls passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Peace Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at O’Connor Memorial Chapel, 2425 8th Avenue North. Shan was born on October 20, 1965 to Naomi and Joseph Hinkle in Missoula, MT. He grew up in Fort Benton and attended school in Great Falls. He joined the US Army in 1982 and served two years. Shan had various jobs eventually leading him to receive his CDL License. That is when he started driving truck to support the oil drilling in North Dakota for the last eight years. He enjoyed his work very much but when it came to family and friends Shan sure enjoyed his camping and fishing with always great company by his side. He will be missed by many. Survivors include sister Nanette Peak of Hays MT; brothers Rick Hinkle of Havre, Rod Hinkle of Great Falls, Mike Hinkle of Great falls; special friend Melanie Thomas and her daughter Cassie of Great Falls; along with many wonderful nieces and nephews. Shan was preceded in death by his parents, Naomi and Joseph Hinkle and sister, Pamela Meyer.
